A week after signing veteran cornerback Leon Hall, his time with the 49ers is over before stepping foot on the field, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #49ers are releasing veteran CB Leon Hall, source said. A bit of a surprise considering how recently they signed him.

Hall, 32, was signed by the team before last week’s game in Washington, but was declared inactive. It was assumed that Hall was brought in to privide an established presence to a young, and inconsistant 49ers’ cornerback group, but the team must not have been impressed with what Hall showed on the practice field.
According to Matt Maiocco, Hall made $117,647 during his brief tenure with the team.
Confirmed: The #49ers have released CB Leon Hall. The club pays him two game checks, totaling $117,647 for his four practices (no games).

Hall’s release is surprising, considering he was a pretty consistant performer throughout much of his 10-year career with the Bengals and Giants. The 49ers have had one of the least effective cornerback groups in the NFL so far this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
