Talk about adding insult to injury. Or is it injury to insult?
Brandon Belt left Wednesday’s matinee with the Angels after pulling up lame while trying to score on a throwing error. It appeared that the injury occurred when Belt’s right knee buckled as he slammed on the brakes before rounding third base.
Belt crumpled to the ground after being tagged out at home, but was able to leave under his own power, albeit while hopping on one leg down the dugout stairs and into the clubhouse.
Belt was able to walk off the field but had to hop on one leg down the dugout stairs. He had gone from first to third on Solano's single and tried to score on the overthrow to third base. Was tagged out easily. Darin Ruf replacing him.

Belt has had knee issues before, and had to have surgery on his right knee in 2018 which took over a year to completely heal.
