This year, Holiday Heroes will celebrate in three wonderful ways and have implemented the following guidelines to promote a safe in-person event for everyone. All guests ages 12+ are required to show proof that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Children under the age of 12 must instead provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event start time. This will be a masked event held outdoors on the baseball field (weather permitting) and on the Promenade Level of Oracle Park. For those who prefer to celebrate at home can enjoy an online experience, At Home With Holiday Heroes, presented by Kaiser PermanenteDonors can orderWonder Boxes filled with goodies and treats to be delivered to their front door. And to raise spirits and bring joy to 300-underserved children, supporters can order and send Be-A-Hero boxes.

In-person guests at Holiday Heroes will have a chance to meet their favorite sports personalities and participate in holiday activities including arts and crafts, stuff your own toy stuffed bear, cookie decorating, a teen lounge for fully vaccinated youngsters ages 12 and older, photo trading cards, magic tricks, and more. In addition, WWFC will present their prestigious Inspiration Award to co-recipients, San Francisco 49er legend Patrick Willis and to Jen Welter PhD, the first female coach in the NFL. They will also present their Community Philanthropy Award. The popular Amy G will serve as the event host and there will be an incredible online auction filled with one-of-a-kind experiences, trips, sports memorabilia, and more.

Wender Weis Foundation for Children creates moments of wonder that spark a lifetime of possibility. Founded in 1994, the Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) has focused on improving the lives of underserved children in the San Francisco Bay Area for 27 years. WWFC want all children to dream big and believe in themselves, so they focus on programs that help improve a child’s self-esteem and self-confidence through sports, health, and education. Their Legacy projects and signature events, Holiday Heroes and Children’s Champions, offer unique event experiences for at-risk youth and raise funds that benefit the region’s most innovative non-profit programs for children.
