Some good news for a change Giants fans — both Brandon Crawford and Denard Span are just a few days from returning to the lineup.

Bruce Bochy joined Jon Miller on KNBR 680’s pregame baseball show, disclosing that Crawford, who went 1-3 yesterday for Double-A Richmond, may be joining the team as soon as tomorrow.

“He’s going to play seven innings today,” said Bochy. “Is he 100 percent fine? No. Was he running 100 percent? No, he was probably 75, 80 percent.”

“We think we’re better off having him play one more game, play seven innings, and see how he comes out of that. The plan is if this goes well, tomorrow he will join us. Maybe not in time for the game, but he’ll join us, fly back with us and should be ready to go the first day back.”

Span will start his rehab assignment today in San Jose. The plan is for him to ease is way back, playing five innings today, seven tomorrow, and nine Thursday.

“It’s going to be good to get him going too,” said Bochy. “We miss him. He helps stretch out the lineup, he’s our leadoff guy. We have missed him sorely.”

Crawford has been out with a groin strain since Monday, April 24th but wasn’t officially moved to DL until the 28th. Span suffered a shoulder-injury on April 22nd after colliding into the center-field wall in Denver.
