Frustrations are boiling over in Giantsland, and manager Gabe Kapler showed it after the fifth inning on Thursday.

For the first time as San Francisco’s manager, Kapler was ejected. It was his fifth career ejection as a manager.

It appeared that Kapler was sticking up for reliever Jarlin García, who had just struck out James Outman to end the fifth. After getting Outman looking, García appeared to exchange some words with Mookie Betts, who was waiting on deck.

Kapler was irate outside the Giants’ dugout after that interaction. First base umpire Phil Cuzzi ultimately tossed him from the game.

Bench coach Kai Correa will finish Thursday’s game as San Francisco’s acting manager.

Betts had homered earlier in the game to give Los Angeles a 4-2 lead. In the dugout, the Dodgers performed a vulgar celebration.

The Giants are on the verge of losing 12 of 15 games after the All-Star break. If they lose the series finale on Thrusday, they’ll have dropped eight straight games to the Dodgers for the first time since 1979.
